The workers started to cut down the branch that fell on our neighbor's house. Here are some pictures after they cut it off.
It was all spiny but it looked kind of fuzzy to me.
They lifted a guy up with the crane.
He was flying!!!
He flew over the house!!!!!
Noni didn't like people messing in her yard,
it made her quiver and whine.
It wore her out watching them do all that hard work!!
An Adventure Outside
After awhile we got tired of sitting in the house. So we went out on the back porch to look at the tree. First thing Noni stood at the edge of the steps and looked out at her yard littered with branches and sawdust.
Here's Judy and Bill's yard after they cleared the tree branch.
Their porch was destroyed!!!!
Next, Noni ran down the stairs. She looked at her yard. Then she heard the sawing and saw the crane swinging and bolted back up the stairs.
This is why Noni ran up the stairs.
Even when almost all the branches were down there were workers flying from branch to branch in the tree.
Noni watched the workers playing with the crane from a safe distance inside the house.
About 20 minutes later, we went out again. Noni went to the 4th step, looked up and was transfixed with the ufo's above her.
The chickens were all grumpy, stomping around their coop, squawking and demanding kale.
As I type the workers are getting ready to chop down the whole tree. Well, first the extra branches (more like stumps) have to come off. Then they'll carry the whole tree over our house. They are not going to take the tree stump out. One of the workers said that the tree stump is probably hollow. So, if it really is hollow, I will plant a garden inside of it.

I think they need a bigger saw.

Not as big as I imagined it.
They are going to have to cut the tree into 6 foot slices.
Wow! That's big!
We went out on the porch to look at the tree.
It looks more like a gigantic cactus than a tree now.
Noni was interested. She stuck her head through the railings.
Noni was happy that the tree didn't fall on her house but she was even happier to be with us.
When they cut a piece of the branch and carried it over the house with the crane, Noni ran to the corner of the deck.
It looked like a giant peanut plant.
Water was dripping out of it. Some of the water dripped on my arm. It was stinky.
They cut more branches and more until the thing looked like an upside down fork.
